His interest in the media didn’t come as an accident.It actually began since he was young when he was a high school DJ.Hemmer took time off from CBS to go backpacking around the world, a year long hiatus during which he traveled through numerous locations, including Vietnam, Egypt, Eastern Europe, Israel, India and Nepal.During his travels he wrote dispatches and sent tapes to a local newspaper, The Cincinnati Post, as well as a CBS local affiliate.He also travelled a lot for his reports, and was in Kuwait during tensions in Iraq – the first Gulf War – and he also covered the death of Pope John Paul II in 2005.After numerous contributions to CNN, Bill decided to leave the network and join Fox News in 2005, having the same responsibilities as his work for CNN.
